Welcome to Destiny Antiques, Art & Design
A stone’s throw from the historical village of Scone.
Destiny Antiques, Art & Design takes it’s name from The Stone of Destiny, or The Stone of Scone as it is sometimes know. Revered for centuries as a holy relic, fought over by nations and used by Dalriadic, Scottish and English monarchs as part of their enthronement ceremonies, The Stone of Destiny was last used in Scone in 1292. Today it is housed beside the other Honours of Scotland in Edinburgh Castle but Scottish MP’s are currently campaigning to have the Stone of Destiny returned to Scone Palace.
Situated within the grounds of Perth Airport, the old Air Training School building has undergone a complete refurbishment on the ground floor to offer keenly sought after display showrooms and cases for a wide range of Antiques, Collectables, Art and Interior Design. The upper floor is next in line for a facelift in the not too distant future.
Only 10 minutes from Perth there are stunning views over the surrounding countryside and ample free parking. Perth and Destiny Antiques is situated in the heart of Scotland, around an hours drive from the Scottish capital, Edinburgh and the cultural city of Glasgow.
Destiny Antiques was opened in September 2006 by Charles Hanson, the Derbyshire and Staffordshire-based auctioneer and ‘Bargain Hunt’ expert, who also spent the weekend doing charity valuations. This was a great success and Charles did a wonderful job. We look forward to his return visit in the 2007.
Currently, Destiny visitor centre in Scotland is host to around 50 retailers, each with their own distinctive display areas.
Customers have the opportunity to browse through a diverse range of antique, vintage & contemporary furniture, jewellery, china & porcelain, clocks, lighting, fine art, cards, giftware and collectables.
Antique & Collectors Fairs are organised on a regular basis and with the growing demand and support, we have become Perthshire’s largest Fair.
During March 2007 we hosted BBC’s Bargain Hunt team who filmed shows for their next series.
